I found Westsun Solar via solarquotes.com.au ... they were the best value for money of the 3 quotes (sensible price for quality panels and inverter). Install day went great. Really professional crew who walked me though the process and it looks great. Started 7am and were done by ~2pm. Would recommend them to anyone. If I had to pick flaws the quoting documentation was a bit slap-dash and the handover after install could have been more informative (partly my fault as I left close to the end). The… More app on my phone works well and I love seeing the energy being captured. The WiFi connection dips out every now and then, but the machine catches the records up when it reconnects. Westsun quoted and arranged for another great crew to come and install a heat pump up to replace the gas system the same day - that was installed in 2-3 hours.
WestSun installed a 15kWh battery for me, as well as upgrading my inverter and installing some new panels as well.
I was very happy with the result. Installation is neat and tidy and their staff (Elias for Sales, Jesse for install) were helpful throughout. They even tolerated my various geeky queries about the tech!
Lisa was fantastic at helping us obtain a system to future-proof our energy needs. Then, the installation team faced an even greater challenge when the fifty-year-old fuse board finally collapsed and needed replacing as part of the installation of the new system. The team called in other staff who had been held up by rain in order to complete our installation in a single day. We were so grateful for getting all this done in a single day.
We are currently powering our home, plus an apartment for… More our daughter and grandson. We also have a bore that can only be used twice weekly for part of the year. Then, it can only be operated using the battery storage due to the time of day when it can be used.
Also, last winter, Synergy used our area to shed power when they could not support the general load. They had set up our system to stop any use of power to our kitchen appliances and the apartment. Even though we had enough power in the batteries to cover the main the nights when this happened.This was one of the main considerations when assessing our upgrade system.
Westsun Solar were absolutely amazing from start to finish. Love my Black Q Cells panels and Huawei inverter. They answered all questions promptly and installation went smoothly. I highly recommend them!
