Manufacturing Solar Projects by Westsun Energy

Westsun Energy has completed solar projects across Western Australia for manufacturing and industrial clients. Each installation showcases the benefits of solar for factories—reduced energy costs, improved reliability, and measurable sustainability outcomes.

Featured Project – Ingham’s Chicken

Ingham’s Chicken has grown from its family business origins in 1918 to become the largest poultry producer in Australia and New Zealand. Today, Ingham’s employs more than 8,200 people and supplies major retailers, QSR operators, food distributors, and wholesalers across both countries. With strong market positions in poultry, turkey, stockfeed, and dairy feed, Ingham’s continues to evolve its operations to meet changing consumer demands while maintaining its legacy of quality and service.

Westsun Energy partnered with Ingham’s to design and deliver a 1.02MW solar power system, marking a significant milestone in their sustainable energy journey. The system included 1,840 Suntech 550W solar panels, nine Sungrow SG110CX three-phase inverters, and advanced grid protection. The project was designed, installed, and commissioned by Westsun Energy’s team of CEC Accredited Installers, ensuring the highest levels of safety and compliance throughout every stage of delivery.

The installation was completed on time and within budget, demonstrating Westsun Energy’s project management expertise and commitment to excellence. Beyond reducing energy costs, the new solar system strengthens Ingham’s long-term sustainability credentials and reduces reliance on fossil fuels. This project highlights Westsun Energy’s ability to deliver safe, reliable, and future-focused solar systems for large-scale industrial clients across Western Australia.

Frequently Asked Questions

Interested in solar for your manufacturing facility? Have some questions? Check out our FAQ section below

or reach out to our team at Westsun on 08 9303 9810.

How much can factories save with solar?

Savings vary by site, but many factories cut energy bills by 40–60 percent with solar for manufacturing. The exact return depends on system size, energy use, and available roof space.

Is solar reliable enough for manufacturing facilities?

Yes. Solar for factory operations is designed to support heavy and consistent energy loads. When paired with battery storage, factories can also reduce reliance on the grid during peak demand or outages.

How big should a solar system be for a factory?

System size depends on energy use and site conditions. Many factories require systems ranging from 200kW to several megawatts to efficiently cover demand.

Can solar power an entire factory?

Yes, in many cases. Solar for factories can offset a significant portion of electricity needs, and with battery storage, solar can cover night operations or backup power.

Is solar worth it for manufacturing businesses?

Absolutely. Solar for manufacturing provides long-term cost savings, energy security, and sustainability benefits, making it one of the smartest investments for the sector.
